Parent Information​​

Parents are not allowed backstage at any time (This is SD Symphony's policy).​

Chaperones will be stationed backstage to ensure performers have what they need.

Parents are not allowed into the venue during the sound check (This is SD Symphony's policy).​

Parents who want to watch soundcheck from the public promenade surrounding the venue are welcome to do so (this area is open to the public 24/7).

General Information:

Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Students begin performing at 6:30 p.m.

We understand this is not ideal for parents and families—this is how San Diego Symphony runs their program and YLJC has no say in it.

Comp tickets will be at Will Call under the student's name.

Our usual parking lots are unavailable for this show, so all student and chaperone vehicles should park in the Convention Center Garage.

Enter the garage from Harbor Dr., using the driveway between 1st and 5th Avenues.

Show your Parking Pass to the attendant—they will allow you to park.

Once parked, you can exit the garage on foot through the back entrance.

If you're transporting a large instrument (e.g. bass), please drop the student off at the front of the venue first—it’s about a 10-minute walk from the garage.

DO NOT distribute it to non-performing guests.
